Dabei gilt eine Grundregel: Wählen Sie einen Ball, den Ihr Hund nicht komplett in sein Maul nehmen kann. Ein Ball, der hinter die Zähne passt, stellt ein Erstickungsrisiko dar.

Which diameter do I need?
One rule decides it: pick a ball your dog cannot fit entirely inside their mouth. A ball that fits behind the teeth is a choking risk. 5 cm suits small dogs and puppies, 7 cm most medium dogs, 11 cm large dogs and strong chewers of any size. Between two, size up.
Is it a chew toy?
No, it is an enrichment toy. The hazard is not the toy, it is a piece chewed off a damaged one — so throw it out as soon as the rubber splits or wears thin, even if it still looks usable.
Can I feed a whole meal through it?
You can, with dry food that moves freely through the opening. Start easy: a dog that gets nothing out in the first few minutes usually gives up and walks away.
My dog got bored of it in a week.
Put it away for a fortnight and bring it back out. A toy that is always available stops being interesting — rotating two or three works better than buying a fourth.
