We started with the one thing every owner worries about, and no one enjoys looking at.
A metal disc, swinging from a ring, wearing its own engraving away against a lead clip. It jingles through the house at night. It is the first thing you notice about a dog and the last thing anyone designs properly.
So we moved it. Sutton & Hide began with a nameplate set into the strap itself — your dog's name and your phone number, cut to order, sitting flat and quiet against the collar.
Four rules, and we do not bend them
If a piece does not solve something real about the day you and your dog actually have, we do not make it.

We design for the walk you do every morning, not the one you photograph once a year. If a piece does not survive a wet Tuesday, it is not finished.

A small range, on purpose
There is no version of this shop with two hundred products in it. Every piece has to earn a place before it goes on the site, which means most of what we look at never arrives.
Personalised pieces are cut after you order rather than pulled from a shelf. That adds days to the wait, and we would rather explain the wait than pretend it does not exist.
We are honest about what we do not know yet. Where we cannot evidence a claim — a certification, a waterproof rating, a safety test — we do not make it.

Where are your products made?
Sutton & Hide is designed in Australia. Manufacturing partners are overseas, and engraving is done to order. We will not describe a piece as Australian-made, because it is not.
Is the leather real?
No. The Sutton Collar strap is PU leather with a padded lining. We call it that on every page rather than dressing it up, because a customer finding out at the door is worse than a customer knowing beforehand.
Do you test for safety or restraint?
Not yet. Nothing we sell is described as crash-tested, certified or rated for restraint, and it will not be until we hold documentation that says so.
How do I reach a person?
